This picture is interesting in its view of the cycle of life. I took the picture at night so you don't see any activity. On the right side of the basement window is a yellow jacket next (lower right corner) and on the left is a spider web. Although not visible in this shot there a couple of yellow jackets in the web. I have left the window with this arrangement all summer. It seemed fair to both the bees and the spider.

Dad, that is hilarious! I hope you keep tabs on them through the winter too. I'd like to know what happens. :)
I would recommend killing all spiders you see from now going forward...
